How does the warranty extension work with the Flying Blue World Mastercard®?

Has your mobile phone suddenly stopped working just after the warranty period expired? For items with a value of at least CHF 100.-, warranty protection is automatically extended at no additional cost. In the event of a warranty claim, costs incurred for repair or replacement will be reimbursed.

The insurance covers new devices for private use with a value of at least CHF 100.- that belong to one of the following device categories:

  • Electrical household appliances: washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, cookers, ovens, microwaves, kitchen machines, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, irons, toasters, electric toothbrushes, shavers, hairdryers, and more.
  • Electronic entertainment devices: televisions, projectors, DVD/Blu-ray players, home cinema systems, hi-fi systems, MP3 players, cameras, video cameras, GPS devices, game consoles, and more.
  • Electrical communication devices: mobile phones, tablets, wearables, computers, notebooks, printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners, external hard drives, and more.

The following requirements must be met for insurance coverage to apply:

  • The insured device was paid for with a Viseca credit card for at least 60% of the purchase price.
  • At the time of the claim, the insured device is no more than five years old.
  • The insured device has an expired manufacturer’s warranty or retailer’s warranty.
  • The insured device is intended for private use.
  • The insured device was purchased from a retailer based in Switzerland or its neighboring countries (Germany, France, Principality of Liechtenstein, Italy, and Austria) or from an online shop targeting Switzerland (e.g., with a “.ch” web address and/or payment in CHF).
  • The value of the goods is at least CHF 100.-.

Maximum insurance amount per event: CHF 5'000.-.
